A one of a kind whee thrown and altered ‘coral’ hand textured cup, made by me in my home studio in castlemaine.
This cup is made from a mixture of stoneware and porcelain clay. It’s best to be hand washed and a little extra care taken with the textured edge.
This design is inspired by beach combing, and the textures and colours of washed up coral pieces on the shoreline.
My pieces are fired to high stoneware temperatures, (1280 - 1300 degrees c) to ensure that they are strong and durable. They will withstand normal wear and tear - but will most likely not survive being dropped on hard surfaces ie: tiles or hconcrete. They can be washed in warm water and soap if they become dirty - especially on any unglazed /matte surfaces. Not reccomended for dishwasher. Keep any gold lustre away from acidic and abrasive substances as they will cause dulling and scratching of the lustre.
