Hand Painted Feather Cup, blue and white ceramic

A one of a kind hand made hand painted cup, made by me in my home studio in castlemaine.

This cup has small gold lustre details, so not dishwasher or microwave safe.

It is wheel thrown in a stoneware clay body.

My hand painted design are inspired by the creatures living in the coral reef as well as on land. I am inspired by and the pattern and texture found in natural objects. I love beach combing and examining things that wash up- or looking at the shapes and colours of bones and lichen found bleached in the bush. I then create imaginary creatures that have a life of their own.

Care: these pieces are fired to high stoneware temperatures, (1260 - 1300 degrees c) to ensure that they are strong and durable. They will withstand normal wear and tear - but will most likely not survive being dropped on hard surfaces ie: tiles or hconcrete. They can be washed in warm water and soap if they become dirty - especially on any unglazed /matte surfaces. Not reccomended for dishwasher. Keep any gold lustre away from acidic and abrasive substances as they will cause dulling and scratching of the lustre.
